About Rottnest Island:
Rottnest Island is only 25 minutes by ferry from the mainland, enjoy this aquatic paradise which is 11 kilometres long and almost five kilometres wide, boasts numerous fantastic beaches.
Enjoy leisure activities galore. Bicycles, the main source of transport, can be hired at Thomson Bay. The amazing array of marine life living in the coral reefs (that fringe the island) ensure superb snorkelling and scuba diving. The island also proves very popular with city surfers short on good surf.
Beware--the flora and fauna is protected, including the cute quokkas (native marsupials like mini-kanagroos).
The traditional way to discover the Island is on a bike, available from Rottnest Bike Hire on the Island, or you can bring your own.
There are many quality eating and drinking establishments on the Island including Vlaminghs Restaurant at the Quokka Arms Hotel, the Rottnest Tearooms, the Rottnest Lodge, Dome Café, Red Rooster and the famous Rottnest Bakery.
