About Thornton Country Retreat:

Built in 1889 Thornton Country Retreat is the original State School which has been tastefully restored to welcome guests is 22k's south of Laidley, between Ipswich and Toowoomba. The two-bedroomed suite is in the main house and boasts a queen sized bed in each room with access via French doors to the large screened veranda from one of the rooms and fabulous views of the garden and Great Dividing Range from the other. Soak away your troubles in the claw foot bath with bath bombs, fluffy towels and bathrobes provided. The separate cottage accommodation provides complete privacy and has rear and front screened verandas. There is a queen sized bed, sofa bed, lounge, dining and reading areas with TV, stereo, games and books. The kitchenette is fully equipped and has a full-sized fridge if you wish to self-cater. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Devonshire Teas available. Lunch and Dinner to be requested at time of booking.
