John was an amazing tour guide! We enjoyed the private tour format and he was very knowledgeable and made us feel right ant home. Can’t recommend this tour enough!

We spent a fantastic day with our tour guy Jon, who's extremely knowledgeable about the island. He balanced nature and culture very well and shared some fun facts we never knew before. Highly recommend the tour! Definitely worth it!

John is a knowledgeable, attentive, and affable tour guide. Aside from the main attractions, John took time to ensure that our group saw what we wanted to see and spent time where we wanted to spend it. John is also a teacher. As we drove from place to place, he shared the history and culture of Kauai, talked about the flora and fauna, and shared the fascinating story of the island of Niihau, which was an added bonus. One stop was at a jewelry shop where John showed us and talked about the Niihau shell leis—as a jewelry lover, this was a real treat. We were also fortunate to see an Hawaiian monk seal, an endangered species. John’s deep appreciation of the places we visited and of Hawaii in general was evident in his descriptions. His approach was to take as much time as we needed to experience everything listed in the tour. There are plenty of photo ops. This is a private tour and we felt our group greatly benefited from the personal attention. Get ready for a full, highly rewarding day and excellent introduction to The Garden Isle.

This tour was the highlight of my trip to Hawaii. Elena was the VERY BEST tour guide. She showed us so many sights and told us the history of this beautiful island. She took us to local shopping sites and a great restaurant for lunch. I highly recommend this tour and can only hope you get Elena as your guide.

First let me say that we always look for a private tour so we don’t have to drive. Most guides have a general route, but will also cater to your wishes. Elena did not disappoint. Her knowledge of the history as well as the floral and fauna was remarkable. It was the best tour we’ve been on. We went at our own pace and saw so much. Our favorites were Waimea Canyon, the Spouting Horn and the Kauai Coffee Plantation. We loved every minute from the pick up at our condo door to the great lunch at the Chicken in a Barrel. We passed going to the shopping areas. We can shop another time. We wanted to see the sights and beauty of Kauai and we did

John was very knowledgeable about Kauai and knew all the great places to see and how to get the best pictures…… We batted 1000 for great shots of canyon, valley, falls, blow hole turtles, etc. Visiting the coffee plantation was a special treat for me to see how it is grown, harvested,, and roasted to cup. Also visited a couple of quaint local towns. This is a great tour which he customized to include some of our specific interests. Highly recommend.

John was our host. He was a very pleasant gentleman and was very knowledgeable about things he was showing us. We loved hearing about some of Kauai’s history and the genealogy of its early ancestors. He knew a great deal about the island’s land history and the commerce that has come and gone over time. I loved Waimea Canyon and the awe-inspiring views from the different vantage points John showed us. Kauai coffee company was a treat as well. We saw two munk seals in poipu as well as several sea turtles. The spouting horn was on full display and did not disappoint. My only complaint is this: the cost of the tour. I would have paid an easy $300 without complaint. But $540 was way too much for this tour. If the tour company wants to charge like it is a premium experience, then make it a premium experience. It was a very nice tour and we thoroughly enjoyed it. But I felt over charged for what I ultimately received.

Our family had a wonderful day with Jon. He took us to so many incredible sites! We asked so many questions and he always knew the answers. His knowledge of Kauai is beyond impressive! We are so thankful to have his expertise to show us around Waimea Canyon and surrounding areas!
