Due to the Hawaii statewide mask mandate, all guests must bring and wear a mask on tour except when actively eating or drinking. Eating or drinking is not allowed on the coach.
Most travelers can participate
On Oahu and Maui, to go on tour and enter restaurants and other indoor venues visited on tour, guests 12 and older prior to boarding are required to show proof of vaccination, or a negative FDA approved molecular, or antigen COVID-19 test taken within the previous 48 hours along with photo identification to their driver.
The high altitude at the summit area may complicate health conditions and breathing difficulties. Elderly visitors, pregnant women, young children, and those with respiratory or heart conditions should consult their doctor prior to touring. Walk slowly and drink water to avoid dehydration. If you have gone scuba diving, you should wait at least 24 hours before going on this tour.

Traveler pickup is offered
The tour times provided reflect the start and end of the tour, but not your exact pickup and drop off time. Whether or not you've provided your hotel/lodging at the time of booking, you are required to contact the tour provider no less than (2) days prior to your tour date to receive your exact pickup time and location. The tour provider will advise you of the specific area at the hotel/lodging you should wait; for example "at the front entrance." Please be there at least 5 minutes before your pickup time. If your hotel/lodging is not included on our pickup schedule, you'll be advised to meet at nearby location. Please note that we are prohibited by certain properties to pickup non-hotel guests and we do not pick-up at private properties such as AirBnB's and residential areas.

Mitch was a fantastic driver and was able to keep everyone from getting motion sickness on such a windy road. The conditions were perfect for a beautiful sunset

Michael, our guide, was the best!! So knowledgeable and enthusiastic about everything from the volcano and Hawaiian history to cuisine and pop culture. Even taught us how to optimize pictures of the constellations on our iPhones. Kept us entertained the entire way and taught us so much on our journey! He is passionate about his work of sharing Haleakala, and along with the amazing skyline views, made the trip A+

This trip will literally take your breath away with its view and thin air. I have never seen anything so beautiful in my life. Truly something you must see if you are in Maui. Our tour guide, Uncle Mitch, was very nice and informative and made you feel like ohana. It can get very cold once you are at the top so make sure to pack a sweatshirt or long sleeve shirt. Uncle Mitch stops at the store for you before he even starts driving to let you get snacks/drinks. There is also about three different bathroom breaks as well.

My Ohana Michael was a great and funny tour guide. He made the 8+ hours on the bus very entertaining. We stopped at several great picture spots and Michael was great with the camera. He was also very engaging with everyone on the bus. The pictures we took at the top of the mountain don’t do justice in the beauty of what actually is being seen. Michael also took us star gazing. We saw the Milky Way and several planets. I learned several Hawaiian myths and how to read/pronounce Hawaiian words. I definitely recommend the Sunset Haleakala Tour.

Our guide Michael was excellent, sharing a lot of history, legend and lore that made the experience complete. The views were spectacular! This lived up to the word 'awesome' in the truest sense. If you're on Maui, this (or the sunrise tour) is a must.

What an amazing tour. Michael was absolutely great. He was very knowledgeable about the culture and history of Maui. The tour was well executed with stops along the way up to the top of Haleakala. Sunset is the best. !!
