Pass By: Needles District Visitor Center, Ut-211 Canyonlands National Park, Moab, UT 84532

The Needles District offers awe-inspiring landscapes and scenic vistas at every turn. Admire towering multicolored rock formations, ancient rock art, desert landscapes dotted with cactus and the vibrant blue southwestern sky. Keep an eye out for a variety of critters including birds, lizards, mule deer and big horn sheep, and enjoy the scent of pinyon, juniper and sage brush in the desert air.

Pass By: Elephant Hill, The Needles, Canyonlands National Park, UT

Your guide expertly maneuvers the 4WD over Elephant Hill, known as one of the most challenging 4WD trails in southeastern Utah. Pass Devil's Kitchen and cruise down Devil's Lane before encountering SOB Hill, another challenge to the driving skills of your guide.

Pass By: Canyonlands National Park, Moab, UT 84532

At midday, enjoy a delicious buffet-style picnic lunch at a gorgeous viewpoint. Afterward, have the option to hike the Joint Trail to the spacious meadows of Chesler Park, one of Canyonlands' most spectacular spots. Expect to walk a 3-mile loop on a well-groomed trail that passes between enormous boulders and side canyons. The trail has a good walking surface and steep uphill pitch in parts, making for a challenging hike suitable for strong hikers. Or skip the hike and simply relax at the vehicle with time to soak up the beauty around you. Either way, your 4WD tour takes you to some of the more remote parts of the Canyonlands so that you can experience this stunning landscape firsthand.

Pass By: Utah Scenic Byway 279 Rock Art Sites, Highway 279, Moab, UT

In an area filled with challenging mountain passes, technical terrain and plenty of level 2, 3 and 4 hikes, the Rock Art Sites of Moab offer travelers easy access to ancient drawings scattered along paths even a novice can navigate.

Pass By: Moab, Moab, Utah

After a full day of exploring by 4WD, your guide returns you to your starting point in Moab to end your tour.

Every thing you’d want from a 4x4 tour. Good vehicle. Passionate and knowledgeable tour guide. Pick up from the hotel was an added perk. The provided sandwiches for lunch were simple but good for a picnic/camp type lunch on the trail. A fun time provided by a reputable company.

My husband and I really enjoyed our tour with Ben. He was friendly and informative about the area. He also has mad driving skills! The roads he drove us on in the Needles District were a little intense but he was a pro. The hike we did with him in the District was also great and the view of Cheslar Park at the end of the hike was beautiful. I enjoyed the variety of snacks for lunch to accompany the casear salad and water. We had a little bit of extra time so Ben took us to another area of the district and we got to see where the Green and Colorado Rivers connect and it was breathtaking. I was especially impressed with the company's communication. We needed a third person to go on the tour for it to run and they let me know that a few weeks in advance. Someone ended up booking that seat but the day we were supposed to go, our guide was sick, so they had to reschedule for the next day, which was totally fine. As a result, they took us on a Monday which I don't think was originally an option and it was just my husband, Ben, and I. This was great company to do this tour with and I feel lucky Ben was our guide, as he grew up in the area and knows it very well. Highly recommend this tour-just be ready for a bumpy ride once you get to Needles!

The Needles 4x4 trip was absolutely AMAZING! The ride on Elephant Hill had us sitting on our seats, literally! Then we did an amazing hike through the slot canyons to Chesler Park and back. Charlotte was also an amazing tour guide! The driving through Elephant Hill was mind blowing and she was very helpful on the hike through the slot canyon as this was our first time. 100% Recommend to add this to your Moab travel plans!

this was hands down the BEST 4x4 trip we've EVER taken. Puts the Pink Jeep tours in Sedona to shame!! The guide, Buzz, was just terrific. An EXTREMELY experienced and skilled driver on this very difficult 4x4 paths...and just a wealth of knowledge and insights into the culture, history and geology of the area. The hike we took was AWESOME and challenging but so worth it. The lunch they prepared was terrific too! given that the whole experience was about 10 hours or so, we thought it was just the very best day we had in the National Parks in Utah overall....and we'd recommend this to ANYONE!!! We're in our early 60s and while the hike was challenging, with some scrambling over rocks, climbs that required a hand up or a guiding hand to place a foot on the way down, we enjoyed it immensely. You do have to have a reasonable level of fitness to do the hike. Not extreme, but no walk in the park. The 4x4 ride is just incredible where these Toyota Land Cruisers can go through, up and down. Just a fun, fun experience!!!

Our trip exceeded all expectations and our expectations were very high. A thrilling and rugged ride over Elephant Hill was only the start of an awesome day. Our hike led us through stunning joints and broad vistas. Our guide, Buzz, provided us with great information regarding the geography and ecosystem of the area. He was also a big help in safely guiding us through the more challenging parts of the hike. This will be the highlight of our trip to Moab.

Beyond our highest expectations. This trip should really be headlined "The Needles' Elephant Hill - A 4X4 Tour de Force" rather than focusing on the Needles District alone. Yes, that is technically where you spend the day, but doesn't give you the breathtaking nature of the drive up and down Elephant Hill. And that drive, more like a rock-bedded roller coaster than a "road" is one of the greatest natural thrill rides you'll ever experience. Our guide, Charlotte, combined grace, toughness, technical prowess and an unbridled passion for the natural and man-made wonders of the Needles District. She was Central-Casting perfect for her role. The Navtec guides have great, first-name relationships with the Canyonlands rangers and have earned their respect. There's also a hike through the Joint Trail, one of my favorite hikes of all time. Even if you're not a big hiker, Charlotte will guide you through the trail. I can't rave enough about this trip.

Moab, Utah is one of the most beautiful places on Earth and to truly appreciate the amazing wonder that are the Canyonlands and Arches National Park, you need an expert to guide you. We have now gone on two adventures with Navtec and can say, without a doubt, that this is the most amazing tour company to work with. And, look no further than Charlotte - we spent a day with her touring Canyonlands in July and two more days in October. Not only is she a wealth of knowledge, but she accommodates her guests by creating experiences based upon what you would like for your day to look like. We have visited both with our kids on a family trip and on a one-on-one private tour and we had tours that left us breathless with the beauty of the area. If you are looking for someone to make your visit to Moab one of the best of your life, search no further - book with Navtec and request Charlotte. It was a tour so nice, we did it twice!

What a fantastic trip! The highlight of our time in the Moab area. Our tour guide/driver Ric was so awesome!! Very entertaining, knowledgeable about the area and a terrific driver! We went on a mother/teenage son trip and the boys loved the rough roads, cliff hang offs and the challenge of the topography. The moms were a little more nervous but Ric had it all under control and did an excellent job driving on the challenging terrain. We had a terrific gourmet lunch and went on an excellent hike that was gorgeous from beginning to end. Don't hesitate to take this trip, you will not regret it. Ask for Ric!!

Jeep trip is not for the faint of hear, but so much fun. A lovely lunch and spectacular hike. Our guide and driver was really fantastic - imparted lots of information, was fun and was a great driver. An unforgettable experience - we are still talking about it two months later. Don't miss it.
