Great trip today with a very knowledgeable guide, Stan. Sit on the right hand side of the vehicle for the best view. Take a few snacks. Water was provided. If you have motion sickness this is not the excursion for you!

The Road to Hana and Beyond was a beautiful trip, but the trip wouldn't have been what it was if it wasn't for Walter. He made it funny, was super informative and was able to answer all the questions we asked. He was also upfront about what we were seeing and experiencing so there were no surprises. Would definitely go again!

Walter was our tour guide for the Road To Hana adventure!! During this tour, Walter narrated so much during the 200 mile stretch. He was so knowledgeable about the culture, history, and landmarks. He made tons of jokes and kept the mood light. Not once did I feel unsafe, even on the one-lane bridge with no guardrails. He was an excellent navigator, and never once became impatient with the rental car drivers who don’t know how to back up (take the tour, don’t drive a rental car). The main road was completely paved except for one 8-mile stretch. We stopped to get donuts, see rainbow trees, lunch @ Hana Farms, a waterfall (optional swimming), black sand beach, and a ravine lookout. He was aware of all the “photo ops” and would even slow down on the road for pretty sights so we could all get a picture. He gave us an approximate time to be back at the bus every time we got off, but he never rushed us. I got to see, do, and take a picture of everything I hoped too. During pick-up in the morning, he waited 10+ minutes for a group of guests without a hint of frustration. I feel as if this tour has the perfect amount of activity. There’s plenty to see while driving and relaxing and the stops were just long enough to stretch your legs, take in the scenery, and take pictures.

Wayne was our tour guide and he was exceptionally informative as he and his family are from the area. Had he not provided a well narrated trip for the long duration of the tour, it may have seemed a bit too long in the uncomfortable van. The scenery and stops were amazing and there was plenty of time to enjoy. Room for improvement - for such a long trip the van was not very comfortable at all. The seats were too worn and did not provide any support or comfort. Also if you have mobility issues, I would choose a different tour provider that has better seating and entrance/exit options. We also had believed that we had a meal coming as part of our tour payment, yet prior to one of our 1st stops were told that this was the spot to purchase meals. This was a bit confusing to us as we thought meals were included but thought we had misunderstood so purchased sandwiches. Then when we stopped at the black sand beach a meal was given to us. We wasted money/food on what we feel could have been better communication at the meal stop for others that didn't have lunch included. And lastly the trip is centered around "the road to Hana" yet all we did was do a quick drive through it. It would have been nice to stop in Hana for a few minutes to shop in the gift shop that we saw as we drove through it. Overall it was a great trip, but if recommending to friends in the future, we would recommend Valley Isle whom we had seen at all the stops; there buses had a walk in entrance/exit and looked to be with a smaller group and much more comfortable. For such a long day, comfort is part of the enjoyment.

Our Hana Coastline tour with Aloha Hawaii Tours was great especially with Eric our local tour guide who kept the long (almost 12 hours) tour entertaining was VERY knowledgeable about Maui and everything along the tour. The only exception we were disappointed with was the food. We had lunch which was a sandwich, chips and drink and breakfast was just local donuts and drink and NO SNACKS were provided. We thought we were getting for the price paid a local breakfast favorite and maybe the lunch the same variety. But snacks after lunch was what was needed!

We were fortunate to have Damien as our guide, a “local boy”, born and raised on island. He was excellent with lots of history stories, informative information with stops along the way for pictures. We had a sandwich wrap lunch that we got to eat on the black sand beach. The tour took us all around the island lasting all day. We were picked up and dropped off in front of our resort. A wonderful trip and much better than driving it yourself.

We were in Maui to celebrate our 25 year anniversary, and briefly considered driving Hana ourselves. After seeing the road, I am SO grateful that we had the good sense to book this tour instead. We were very fortunate to have been assigned Shelly as our driver and tour guide! Shelly is Hana born and raised, knows the road and all that goes with it inside and out like the back of her hand. There is a feeling of safety and security in knowing that you are being driven on this hair raising road by someone who has been navigating it since childhood and still drives it every day, every curve of the road is in capable hands. We learned so much about the culture, food, language and landscape, there just aren't enough words to describe how unique of an experience this is. Shelly was kind, knowledgeable and gracious and truly made us feel like family. She knew people everywhere we went, it felt like we had some kind of VIP tour! The tour was long, appx 12 hours, but we were in no way tired of hearing Shelly talk. We can't wait to bring our kids to Hawaii with us to experience Hana as well, and will be requesting Shelly for this tour! Thank you for our best day in Maui!

Shelly was the sweetest and super cultured. Knew every plant, tree, jungle, seed, waterfall etc. It wouldn’t be impossible to do the drive yourself but it would be a freaking pain. She gave us time at parks to swim. Eat at food stands. Take pictures at waterfalls etc. It’s a 12 hour trip but you see every single thing possible on the coast.
