Must have previous snorkeling experience
Must be comfortable in the water, be comfortable using floatation if needed (we have Ride Along option available for non-swimmers)
Must be in good health and fit condition, must be able to climb a short ladder
Due to the nature of this tour and the safety of all guests, the tour operator reserves the right to refuse service to passengers who are intoxicated or show signs of intoxication. If, as a result, your tour is canceled, you will not be entitled to a refund.

The crew did an awesome job. They were very helpful and informative. Simon entertained us, too. Ulu and Ken really made me feel safe. I panicked when I went into the water but they were professional and coach me calmly. The manta rays were phenomenal, it was breathtaking to be up close with these gentle giants. The only hitch is/was. — there was no proof or documentation of our encounter with the rays. Thank you

What more can I say then one of the best experiences of my life?!? Well I can say a lot more, and I will! Our main guide was Adam, the hilarious self describing “beach Viking”, was a 10/10! He provided comedy, safety information, scientific knowledge, comfort, and genuine joy for the whole experience. His work ethic and whole demeanor provided for a safe, enjoyable night my entire company will never forget. Charlie was the driver of our boat and nothing but smooth sailing! We got the see about 4 different mantas multiple times on our adventure. And our grand finale included three barrel rolls literally inches from us from the blessed Amanda-Ray. Additionally the equipment, boat, and apparel were all in great condition and only enhanced the great experience! Word of advice though, get there on time, and if you are not that comfy keeping your feet up ask for a noodle. We had some people on our boat who showed up late only to annoy the rest of us timely people. And then additionally, you are not supposed to touch the mantas and so you need to be able to lay flat with your head in the water for a long time. Those of us able to keep our legs flat to the surface and head in could see all the people unable to do so and scaring the mantas creating a slight annoyance. But hey when you pay the well worth and we’ll earned $100+ for animal amazement you get to complain a little about the patrons who take away from it a little. Regardless of time lost, or maybe a less manta or two. The whole thing was spectacular. I cannot thank this team (Adam and Captain Charlie), Hang Loose Boat Tours, and of course the beautiful mantas enough! Thank you. From, Shannon & Aaron Gibbons and Jack and Katelyn Meyer. P.s. we even saw a shooting star to boot! Can it even get any better?!?! Maybe a second time is needed to find out? Until then! Mahalo

Had a great time with our guides Jake and Adam. They took care of us and guided us along for a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this to anyone who's okay with swimming in the ocean at night (even if you're not you'll warm up to it...it's weird at first but nothing to worry about). The Manta's come within inches from you! Such amazing and majestic creatures. Worth every penny.

Adam was hilarious. The boat ride out and back was breathtaking. Both the stars and night coastline glittered. The rays themselves were amazing. The biggest one we saw was 13 feet across. The guides had floaty pool noodles to assist people getting to and from the boat who weren't confident swimmers. We were here in December 2021 -- air temperature was colder than the water. Water was 79*.

The most unbelievable experience I’ve ever had. The manta rays are so peaceful and they get within inches from you. So close you almost thing they are gonna touch you. What we saw didn’t even look real it was like a dream. 100/10 I would do this every night of my life . You have to go here the crew was amazing as well(:

The manta rays were amazing! We also saw a dolphin and a seal - fantastic! The captain and crew were great - the captain gave excellent (and humorous) instructions for every scenario, while the crew was very patient with the passengers and repeated information/instructions many times! There were some glitches, the biggest one being a fairly late start, but I would have rated 4.5 stars if it were a choice.

An impressive and magical display of nature, wonderfully explained and calmly organised. Manta rays are majestic. I would do exactly this again, if I came back to Hawai'i. I am relatively familiar with snorkeling and I follow direction well. Some other guests seemed to struggle to get comfortable at first.

This was a once in a lifetime experience, and I highly recommend it. We saw about 20 rays and they are magnificent! The crew was very organized and professional. I would not recommend this for young kids or older people. The boat goes very fast and, in the winter, the water is very rough. Even in the bay, it was extremely choppy. Dramamine is highly recommended. Also, there are no changing areas when you get off the boat, so it's best to change while on the boat (in your seat is really the only option). The restrooms at the harbor were closed, unfortunately, so we had to use dirty outhouses. I would recommend the tour operator pay a little more attention to passenger comfort in these areas. Otherwise, an amazing experience!
