  Barry was an awesome guide. He is very knowledgeable and was able to keep the group engaged by sharing interesting stories about the neighborhood and asking about special interests before the tour. Highly recommended!

  Barry was right on time and kept things moving right along. He is very knowledgeable of both the Victorian architecture and hippie past of the neighborhood. A very personable host!

  Barry did a great job, lots of history and popular culture. He was friendly and attentive, and we especially appreciated his flexibility on the time of the tour. Pace was great amount of walking to stopping and picture-taking. He wanted to make sure he covered any special interests as well, which was awesome.

  We spent a couple of very enjoyable hours being shown around the Haight by Barry. His passion for the area and the time of its heyday was contagious, especially his Painted Ladies! The stories really brought the streets to life: Hendrix, Joplin, and Garcia; the Hippies; the Hells Angels. Take comfortable walking shoes, water, and a camera, for the area is hilly and scenic in equal measure.

  Barry provided an excellent guided tour on the history, architecture and music of the Haight-Ashbury area; the birth of the Hippie phenomenon and the counterculture of the late 1960s. He is informative, knowledgeable and enthisiastic on the era. I thoroughly recommend them experience

  The tour tries to cover the area history, culture and architecture - a big ambition. it is challenging to include all of these topics in a short amount of time. The guide is enthusiastic. The tour route should be refined, the tour ends 1.5 miles away from the start point.
