We had the best time even though we didn’t see much wildlife - the centers and hospitality was well worth it all! Our group had so much fun exploring it all and would definitely book a trip again. 🤍

Our Haines adventure was the highlight of our Alaska vacation! Karen was absolutely incredible during the entire planning process - we can't thank her enough for the time and effort she put in to scheduling the whole visit. From transportation to hotel reservations and working with us to make the most of our Jetboat Adventure, Kroschel Wildlife Tour, and Raptor Center visit - she took care of everything so we could just relax and enjoy ourselves. Jan, our bus driver was so friendly, full of information and accommodating! Our Jetboat captain CJ was great and tried hard to find wildlife (can't control mother nature!). And Steve Kroschel was SO ENTERTAINING!! It's obvious how much he cares for the animals and they have bonded with him as well. Our high-functioning autistic son was totally engaged every moment of the tour (so unusual!) and tells everyone how much he loved that day of our vacation the most!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

We did the Jet Boat Tour through the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve. Great Tour with lot's of things to see. Afterwards we had lunch there and finished the tour with a visit at the Bald Eagle Foundation in Haines. Transport, the Tour, Lunch and the museum were great!

We booked this tour seperately from the cruise ship and were glad for it. Our tour was able to go longer than the regular tour because of this. Our guide Rustin was extremely knowledgable and did everything possible to get us views of wildlife while pointing out many interesting things about Alaska. We were not able to see bears but this trip was very worthwhile and I recommend it. We had the benefit of great weather but I would plan on dressing warmly as the boats are open air and the tours take a couple hours or so. My family loved it!

An easy way to penetrate into remote area to see bald and golden eagles.. Probably a 40-minute ride by bus to the jet boats. Fortunately these people know that guests don't show up with sufficient cold weather clothing. Jet boats at speed on a river of 38-degree water is a cold location. However, your guides can provide gloves, ear covers additional parkas and best of all blankets for your legs. The boats are WIDE open so there is no shelter from wind, the cold or bad weather. You are on the water about an hour and forty-five minutes so another tip is - use the toilets before you embark. Scenery is great and wildlife is on and off as they so decide to be around when you are. Our guide, Javier, was excellent. Javier was Aa very knowledgeable, and engaging person. Upon our return they had small wraps, chips and coffee or tea to help warm the bones. Given any day with reasonable weather this is a nice tour.

My favorite Alaskan excursion was in Haines on the Chilkat River Advertures, Inc. jet boat tour. Taken in August 2019 it was so much fun. A jet boat is calmer than it sounds. It seats about a dozen, well wrapped up guests and can maneuver all over the river, up little streams and in just inches of water. Personable, excellent guide Rustin who is completing his Masters Degree in a related fish and game field. A private (non-cruise ship excursion) that can go where the animals are. Owners are environmentally committed. This was a real Alaskan adventure for the armchair tourist who wants to see everything without hiking about. Loved it!!

Magnificent, awesome—no words can adequately describe this adventure. Our guide Rustin Goodin made the day, getting the boat as close as possible to eagles Trumpter Swans a moose and not one but two big brown bears and a cub. Really up close. The river mountains and forest were food for the soul. Thank you Rustin!

We booked this trip through Holland America. Our bus driver, Cheryl, was most informative. She told us about the history of the area and life in Haines. I always enjoy learning what is like to live in an area. The folks at the preserve greeted us and provided us with ample warm clothing - parkas, hats, gloves, blankets. Our guide Javiar was excellent. We saw a mother bear and her cub, bald eagles, and a moose swam right in front of our boat! Javiar was a very knowledgeable guide and most accomodating to our requests. The scenery is amazing. Our cookies and hot cocoa were a yummy ending to our adventure. I highly reccomend this trip.

My inlaws, wife and I did this tour, so we could see more of Alaska's wildlife. We traveled on the river for several miles and saw eagles and one moose. The scenery was beautiful. Our guide was very knowlwdgeable. He made everyone feel safe in the jet boats. The boat was fun to be on and the day we wer out, the weather was absolutely amazing. This was a fun tour, and I would highly reccomend it to anyone visiting Haines, Alaska!
